Every year, at the beginning of the year, I feel the pressure to lose weight and go to the gym. Hi, I’m Kristyn and I recently started a food blog called Dash of Herbs. But back to that first sentence. Does anyone else feel that pressure? I know so many people try and fail to keep New Year’s Resolutions about losing weight and going to the gym. We set the bar so high that it’s just unattainable.
Let me tell you something. You aren’t alone. I have felt this way for many, many years. And I have struggled with my weight for longer than I really want to admit.
After living an active childhood, I started to notice the weight creep on when I was working a 9-5 cubicle job. It didn’t happen suddenly, so I didn’t really notice that it was a problem until it was. When I got on the scale recently, I think I yelped. It was that bad. And I knew I had to do something about it.
So, I decided to join Weight Watchers and with that came cooking more. Dash of Herbs is the brainchild of my Weight Watchers journey and my new love of cooking. You can find simple, easy recipes that any type of cook can throw together, and they are so easy to make. I try to not spend more than 30 minutes putting a meal together, and these recipes are on point.
These mini chicken pot pies are perfect when you are wanting a little bit of comfort food.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t deny myself something sweet. These choco-chocolate chip muffins are fabulous when my sweet tooth hits and I have to have something.
This black bean burger is delicious. It’s a little bit spicy, but the homemade guacamole on top just adds to the flavor and is a great compliment to the burger.
Want to make breakfast while you sleep? This slow cooker apple cranberry oatmeal is amazing. Seriously, it’s so good. It’s pretty high in points, but it gets you really full for the rest of the day. Talk about starting your day off right!
I have made these turkey sausage mini quiches twice, and both times, they were amazing. You can have so many varieties of these little things, that I just love them even more. The possibilities are endless!
When the weather gets colder, I want chili. But I don’t love beef chili all the time. This white chicken chili recipe is so flavorful, you won’t know what hit you. Oh, and it’s INCREDIBLY easy to make.
And what kind of food blogger would I be if I didn’t include a recipe for you? This Spicy Romano Chicken Pasta dish is fantastic – especially if you like spicy food. You could cut the cayenne pepper in half if you are unsure about it.

These look absolutely delicious!
Thank you so much! All these recipes can be done in about 30 minutes or less….so eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing anything!
I need to try those muffins! They are perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth!
I just made them again this week, and they are SO GOOD! They are now 4 SmartPoints per muffin, but totally worth it in my opinion. Sweets are part of my biggest weakness, so I love that these aren’t too bad and still curb that sweet craving that I get.
