The End of the Get Back to Business Podcast

Since, my sister was originally on the podcast, I had kept it very separate from my business, Carrylove Designs. But, since she has stepped away from podcasting, I tried continuing that podcast, but it just didn’t feel right continuing it on and changing the format without my sister.

So, I decided to step back and kind of reevaluate what I wanted to achieve with the podcast. Here we are at A Brand and a Plan Podcast. If this is our first time meeting, hello! My name is Amanda Shuman, I am a brand strategist and website designer at Carrylove Designs.

Man, oh man. About a year of podcasting under my belt, and here were are, back to square one. Episode zero, the intro to A Brand and a Plan Podcast. If you are thinking that you’ve heard my voice before, you might of heard me on the Get Back to Business Podcast, that I did with my sister in 2017 and ’18.

We decided to dissolve that podcast, because my sister ended up quitting. Well, she didn’t quit, that sounds terrible. She ended up stepping away from the podcast, and I tried continuing it on, but it just didn’t feel right and aligned with my brand, and it felt weird repositioning it without my sister.

So, I decided, at the end of this year, that I was going to dissolve that podcast, and kind of have a fresh start with this one, after stepping back to look at Carrylove Designs and what I wanted to achieve with this podcast.

So, if this is our first time meeting, hello! My name is Amanda Shuman, I am a brand strategist and award-winning website designer at Carrylove Designs, which is a studio for branding and website design for creatives. If you are interested, you can still go back and listen to the Get Back to Business Podcast. We have a lot of really, really good guests on that show. So, it’s worth going back and listening to the episodes.

On A Brand and A Plan Podcast, we are going to be talking all about creating a memorable brand, as well as a high-converting website, because as a creative, I’m sure you want to make more money doing what you love. You probably started your business out of a passion for either taking photos, or making dresses or creating art, and somehow it turned into a full-time business, and you have no clue on how to build a brand and how to create a website.

Approach to Branding

So, that’s why I’m here to help. Carrylove Designs takes a bit of a different approach to branding and website design than other designers. I firmly believe that there is a lot of strategy that has to take place before ever touching the design of a brand. So, what we do is do a little bit of market research, looking into your competitors in the market space and how you want to position yourself, and that’s all done before we even think about touching the design of the brand.

Then, we pair that with a memorable website. After years of doing this, I have created a three part system for phenomenal website strategies that books clients. So, throughout this podcast, I’m going to breaking down all of my processes and what I’ve learned over the years into bite-sized pieces, for you to utilize and implement into your own brand and website. So, that you can make more money doing what you love.
